Venom, A Song: Shaurya Shaukat Sircar

I passed your house last night,

Raped your wife, set her alight,

Hacked your kid, ate his heart,

The sacred games will soon start.

A pestilent parasite

Of monumental magnitude

Blackens the hopeful light

For those souls with fortitude.

This cancer has consumed their mind,

Swords cross, blood drops, kill one another,

Love and laughter you will not find,

Burn homes of someone’s father and mother.

Where will all this this hate lead to,

This earth belongs to me and you,

Our next lot will truly behold,

Magic lights, fireflies and peace unfold,

Let’s create a better world in a new mould.

Breaking us in terms of caste,

Cutting up the nation all around,

Those chants of religion won’t last,

You will rot in hell where devils abound.

This cannot go on forever,

Raise your voice my oppressed brother,

We need a final solution,

Let’s all begin a revolution,

Against this fascist government,

To overthrow their establishment.

Where will all this this hate lead to,

This earth belongs to me and you,

Our next lot will truly behold,

Magic lights, fireflies and peace unfold,

Let’s create a better world in a new mould.

And this time when I pass your home,

I’ll pray for happy spirits to roam,

And if you need any help, just reach out,

I’ll be there, lending a hand, no doubt.
