Senryu by Daipayan Nair
1.
graffiti art walk—
the old beggar pees on
revolution
2.
shaking a jar
of roasted raw mangoes
Kolkata noon
3.
street corner night —
the ten hands of
a fuchka seller
4.
between
the city buses
her face
5.
returning home
on a hand-pulled rickshaw
the school song
6.
lying headless
at Kali's feet
the ash gourds
7.
midday sunshine…
placing the first shoe
on his anvil
8.
fearing a stampede
the bael leaf
in my folded hands
9.
late monsoon—
the tyre marks all over
a placard
10.
ganja roll…
I agree with his
ganja roll
