When the effort goes unnoticed, unrecognised: An inexplicable crisis—Kunal Roy
After the completion of our studies, we step forward towards the professional world. A world where we expect to perform, shine and get recognised. A place which is hoped to rediscover, rebuild ourselves. However, there are many times when the things fail to fall in their apt places and a sense of void creeps in! An uncanny silence. No eulogy except the icy, deafening and dismissive taciturnity.
I am an academician and have been working in the industry for more than a decade! I never believe in chasing numbers. I always believe in results. I invest my heart and soul in shaping the amorphous destiny of my disciples. Amid the tight academic schedules, I manage to complete my research based papers to contribute to the peer reviewed journals! I burn the mid - night oil not only to eke out a living but also mirror the needs and preferences! Unfortunately the verve goes unnoticed and this is something not less than a shocking allegation against someone for no such relevant reasons..!
Promises made and broken for the umpteenth time. Discourses laced with hope were shared many a good times. Assurances whispered into my weary ears and with the passage of moments they faded into insignifance. Words sounded more of a written script than being impromptu to appease the famished entrails!
Waxing and Waning phases of the financial graph are not something unconventional. But what hurts us the most is the blatant disregard for commitment! Creativity of any domain demands a thorough knowledge, an unshakeable confidence , dedication and an incisive awareness of the whole stuff. There should not be any digression. However, I feel that winning accolades and other modes of fame and recognition carry a paltry importance within the painted four walls, where the order and politics mute the merit without giving a second thought!!
Once a Nobel Winner asked, " Can heartiness be bitter? ". At the very outset the answer is a big NO. But at times, the situation provokes to grow a strong apathy towards the whole system. Belief without validation begins to crack the soul without one's knowledge.
Money matters. Yet reverence, honesty and integrity matter the most. No relationship (personal or professional) can bank upon vague appreciation and shattered assurances!
It was not a year of mediocrity. Efforts were put in and the concrete results reflected in the accepted sense of term. However, I have taken an oath. I shall continue to teach, create, guide and bask in the soft, supple glow of success and victory. Undoubtedly silence is golden, but it is not devoid of its limits. It is a cry from within. It is a cry of despair and deprivation. It is not for the mere justice, but for the fundamental human respect. Any explanation?
