Rain and You—Bob DCosta

RAIN and YOU

(- a poem on reflection -)

And then came the rains

and on the roof-top of your mind

they pitter-pattered

and they seeped into your veins

they crawled-rested

and they rested-and-crawled

they jealousied at you

for the coffee you tasted so selfishly

you only shared with

you

your

yourself

till the rainy droplets

negatived by your non-sharing attitude

turned to droplets of gluttony

and hatred

and greed

they let out silent cackles

and when you put your head

on the rainy pillow of the night

you woke up

and you were only a piece

of dead firewood

then the witches and wizards of rain

buried you

to be slowly bitten

and eaten

by the residents of the graveyard soil

earthwormed

snaked

slimed

decayed

your soul remaining non-resurrected...
